Seth Godin wrote about the impact of AI on writers in “Walk Away or Dance.” Essentially, the choices are to become a better writer or become a better AI user. Complaining and hoping AI goes away does not help. At glamglare, we have used Grammarly for spellchecking and simple editing for years. I don’t know the technology Grammarly used before 2022, when LLMs became mainstream with ChatGPT, but it could do far more than check your words against a dictionary. Of course, today Grammarly has become an AI-first company and can do all kinds of text generation. But how much AI is ok to use as a writer? The answer to this question is a moving target. glamglare is a music blog, so the writing is a tool to entice people to listen to a song or album. Ignoring AI is not an option, so we will dance with it.
